There is certainly no shortage of apps of this nature in the app store. That doesn’t mean this app is any less worthy than the others.
I found the narration to be professional and clear. The graphics are simple and easy to recognize. When I got to G I was disappointed because the narrator said the G as a hard G, as in grape, but the picture was of a giraffe which is said with a soft G. This could be confusing for children learning. The same was true for the letter I.
I did like the “Write” feature. It showed how the letter would be written using a little orange dot that traced the letter. It then prompts the child to take a turn. The “Write” feature is great and will help many children learn how to write the letters as well as recognize the letters as they say them.
It is hard to put together an app like this especially trying to avoid the more complicated words that include consonant blends, etc. Overall they did a nice job. I would like to see the letters I and G corrected to show images that reflect the sound or have the narration changed to reflect the correct sound.
